With classes on campus, online, and summer courses, the 5-course program will give you the necessary tools to serve a Spanish-speaking community. The program allows you to gain exposure to cross-cultural communication challenges, health belief, and practices through service learning, internships and study abroad opportunities in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The certificate in Spanish for health care is a program available to undergraduate or graduate Catholic University students, external applicants, and to health care professionals nationwide. It allows you to gain competence in Medical Spanish and Cultural awareness to better serve the Hispanic community.
By studying a certificate in Spanish for health care , you will gain an appreciation of the essential importance of cross-cultural communication. The small size of the classes means that you will get to know your professors and fellow students personally. The Catholic University of America Spanish Club will welcome you to join in its many social and academic activities. In addition to internships, medical outreach abroad programs are available to students during the academic year.
