The Catholic University of America offers a joint J.D./M.A. degree for those wishing to pursue a career in both law and politics. Situated in the political hub of the United States, students will be able to gain first hand experience in various fields. This program allows students to receive two degrees at once quicker than if the degrees were pursued separately.

Joint MA/JD Program

Earn a Master of Arts in either the Congressional and Presidential Studies (CAPS) program or the International Affairs program (MAIA) and a J.D. from the Columbus School of Law. Twelve (12) politics credits are applied toward the J.D. and nine (9) law credits are applied toward the Master of Arts. Therefore, a student must take 21 CAPS or MAIA credits (or seven courses), plus complete the other MA requirements.

These programs require application to and acceptance by the Columbus School of Law and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
