  • Academic and Professional

    American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)

    ASCE at CUA is the student chapter of the national organization which coordinates social events for Civil Engineering students and provides opportunities for all students to connect with faculty and staff in the Civil Engineering department. 

    American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)

    To advance the arts and sciences of heating, ventilating, air-conditioning and refrigerating to serve humanity and promote a sustainable world.

    American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)

    The mission of this organization shall be to promote brotherhood between mechanical engineering students through social activities, to promote the spread of knowledge through academic programs, and to support students’ pursuit of an engineering career.

    Association of Computing Machinery (ACM)

    The association for computing machinery is an educational and social organization dedicated to fostering interest in and discussion of the topics related to information technology. 

    Byzantine Student Union (BZU, The Byz Club)

    Our group works to get involved in all aspects of Byzantine and Eastern Christian culture-- from the music, to the art, to the food, to understanding the lives of Eastern Christians in the past and today.

    Cardinal Startups (Entrepreneurship Club)

    The mission of Cardinal Startups is to baptize the Catholic University of America Community with the Entrepreneurial Spirit.

    Catholic University Intelligence Club

    The Catholic University Intelligence Club (CUIC) hosts a variety of events related to the intelligence field, including field trips to CIA headquarters, guest speakers, films, and other activities.

    CUA Accounting Society

    The Accounting Society is an organization in the School of Business and Economics focused on enhancing the academic experience of accounting majors with information sessions and events with professional members of the accounting community. 

    CUA Biology Club

    Biology Club is an organization for those interested in the life sciences. The club organizes many social and educational events, providing many opportunities for students to interact with faculty, and to establish contact with life science professionals

    CUA Chapter of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA)

    AIAA strives to learn about the different components of air travel and flight. Working as a team, we collaborate on projects and hold events that will advance our knowledge and skills in the aeronautics and the aerospace fields.

    CUA Chemistry Club (Chem Club)

    The Chemistry Club is for any science or non science chemistry enthusiast. We have meetings (usually with food), discuss chemistry, take chemistry related field trips and participate in a range of community service events! 

    CUA National Association for Music Education (CUA NAfME)

    CUA National Association for Music Education is the University's collegiate chapter of the national organization. The mission of NAfME is to advance music education by encouraging the study and making of music by all. 

    History Club

    MEETINGS EVERY OTHER TUESDAY CALDWELL 121 History Club brings together all those who appreciate all the stories and glories of the past. With movie nights,food, and excursions into the city, there could be no better place than DC to study history.

    International Affairs Association (IAA)

    A student organization dedicated to promoting understanding and knowledge of international affairs on campus and in the community.

    Medieval Society

    We foster growth in the scholarship of medieval studies. We seek to further understand the affects the medieval period had over various disciplines including history, literature, philosophy, art, music, and religion. 

    Psychology Club

    An academic club focused on the field of psychology, open to everyone!

    Society of American Military Engineers (SAME)

    SAME promotes success academically and professionally by allowing students to connect with peers and a professional networking community, while also providing scholarships for students who excel within the fields of architecture and engineering.

    Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)

    SHPE changes lives by empowering the community to realize their fullest potential and impacts the world through STEM awareness, access, support and development.

    Student Nurses' Association of Catholic University (SNA-CU)

    SNA-CU is an academic, student led group for students interested in the profession of nursing. We participate in volunteer opportunities, informative discussions, and health promotion activities on the campus and in the DC community. 

    The American Institute of Architecture Students (CUAIAS)

    AIAS is an independent, nonprofit, student-run organization dedicated to providing unmatched programs, information, and resources on issues critical to architectural education. 

    The Business of Fashion Club (B.O.F.)

    The purpose of this club is to promote professional development and knowledge within the fashion industry.

    The Business Women's Council (BWC)

    The Business Women’s Council denotes the importance of women in the field of business and in leadership roles. The BWC will work as an advocate for undergraduate women and enhance opportunities for women enrolled in a CUA business major.

    The Catholic University of America Investment Club (CUA Investment Club)

    The Catholic University of America Investment Club seeks to create and build an understanding of the investment banking and sales and trading world; while developing the skills necessary to analyze and participate in capital markets. 

    The Classics Club (Classics Club)

    The Classics Club works to promote interest in the Greco-Roman world and foster unity among those studying or working in classical antiquity.

    The Catholic University of America Fabrication Lab (CUA Fab Lab)

    CUA Fab Lab strives to educate students, faculty, and staff about 3D technologies and enable them to create physical objects through 3D printing, machining, and hand-modeling via woodshop and 3D print lab.

    The Marketing Society

    To form a student run, faculty advised business marketing team to consult and create marketing strategies as a service to The Catholic University of America community (Student Organizations, Academic Departments, and Athletic Events Etc.) 

    The Pre-Law Society of The Catholic University of America (PLS CUA)

    The Catholic University of America Pre-Law Society will provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to learn about law school and its associated admission process, in addition to encouraging undergraduates to learn more about legal processes and

    The Society of Women Engineers (SWE)

    SWE is local chapter of a national society dedicated to networking and promoting the involvement and advancement of women in the engineering field. 

    Toastmasters International (CUAToastmasters)

    CUAToastmasters will be a public speaking, leadership, and organizational club.

    Active Minds at CUA (Active Minds)

    Active Minds at CUA is a chapter of a national organization that works to diminish the stigma around mental health issues and foster a more open dialogue about these topics on our campus. 

    Alpha Phi Omega (APO)

    Alpha Phi Omega is the National Co-ed Service Fraternity. We follow the principles of: developing leadership, promoting friendship, providing service to humanity; and furthering the freedom that is our national, educational, and intellectual heritage.

    American Solidarity Party (ASP)

    We are the CUA supporters of the American Solidarity Party. We support life throughout the entirety of life ; we support responsible stewardship of the earth; we support providing assistance to those in need. Pro-Life, Pro-Earth, Pro-Social Justice.

    Best Buddies

    Best Buddies® is an organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendship and integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and development disabilities. 

    Cardinal Red Cross (CRC)

    Cardinal Red Cross is a community-minded organization, affiliated with the National Capital Area Region Chapter of the American Red Cross, consisting of students and faculty who respond to our community's needs through service, education and leadership.

    CUA Homefront

    CUA Homefront supports, engages, promotes, and advocates on behalf of active and reserve duty, ROTC, veterans, and other members of the defense and intelligence community that contribute and sacrifice for the national security of the United States.

    DC Reads

    DC Reads is a local tutoring program in which CUA students assist elementary and middle school aged children at high-needs schools or local community centers.

    Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Iota Iota Chapter (DST)

    Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated is a sorority that celebrates sisterhood service and scholarship. Our mission as a chapter is to serve our local community through our 5 programmatic thrusts while promoting sisterhood and scholarship

    Engineers Without Borders (EWB)

    EWB-USA supports community-driven development programs worldwide by collaborating with local partners to design and implement sustainable engineering projects, while creating transformative experiences and responsible leaders.

    Habitat for Humanity

    Habitat for Humanity coordinates local day trips to assist with construction of habitat homes as well as regional trips and our annual Spring Break Collegiate Challenge trips. We host advocacy events on campus to raise awareness of affordable housing.  

    The Anscombe Society

    The Anscombe Society strives to engage the CUA community through discussion and education to promote an authentic approach to love through witness and testimony to the importance of marriage and family.

    Centerstage Theatre Company (Centerstage)

    CenterStage Theatre Company is the student-run theatre organization on CUA's campus. We are from students, by students, and for students! 

    CRUX Magazine for the Creative Arts (CRUX)

    Our mission is to keep art alive at CUA and to do that we offer a platform to artists of all kinds; from poets to painters, from faculty to students.

    CUA Dance Company (Dance Co.)

    We are the CUA dance company - a group of passionate students who have studied all genres of dance from ballet to tap and everything in between! We host the CUA Arts Fest in the fall and perform at events like Luau and Relay for Life in the spring.

    CUA Swing Kids (Swing Dance Club)

    CUA Swing Kids is an organization dedicated to creating a fun learning environment for anyone interested in learning how to swing dance.


    We provide an environment for those students and faculty interested in Anime and the Japanese culture. We also promote Japanese Animation (Anime), Japanese Comics (Manga), Japanese Music and Voice Acting as an art form.

    Tower Student Newspaper

    The Tower is the independent student newspaper at CUA and was first published in 1922. We are writers, editors, photographers, cartoonists, and even business managers. Our organization is welcoming and very social.

    WCUA Radio (WCUA)

    WCUA Radio is The Catholic University of America's official online radio station! WCUA hosts a variety of shows throughout the week and is always online and streaming a vast library of music!

    Catholic Men's Rugby

    Close knit brotherhood of student-athletes competing in rugby matches on a weekly basis through a Fall and Spring Season. Great team camaraderie is formed also off of the pitch by means of performing community service, attending team masses, and more.

    Catholic Men's Ultimate

    CUA's official Ultimate Frisbee team. We play in the Division III Atlantic Coast Region in the USA Ultimate season and a number of other regional tournaments. Catholic is the reigning two time Conference Champion in the Northern Atlantic Coast Conference.

    CUA Ballroom Dance Team

    CUA Men's Club Lacrosse is a team consisting of up to 40 students. We joined the NCLL Chesapeake DII conference in the fall of 2014. Our club plays in multiple fall tournaments (5+ fall games) in addition to our full spring schedule (10+ spring game).

    Catholic Social Workers National Association CUA (CSWNA)

    The Catholic Social Workers National Association (CSWNA) is a group that strives to provide an open forum for those wishing to express their faith in the field of social work, through fellowship, discussion, and service opportunities.

    Esto Vir is a Catholic brotherhood committed to cultivating the virtues of prayer, brotherhood, chastity, fortitude, and self-sacrifice.

    Gratia Plena (GP)

    Gratia Plena is CUA's Catholic women's group that explores feminine dignity. In striving to open ourselves to the Lord and become "full of grace," we devote ourselves to faith, formation, and service while strengthening the bonds of authentic sisterhood.

    The CUA Knights of Columbus council is dedicated to serving the CUA and DC communities. We foster development of faith and fraternity among Catholic men on campus through the international organization of more than 1.8 million members. Join today!


    Redefined exist to share the truth found in the Theology of the Body (TOB) and to explore their application in everyday life. TOB explores the meaning of the body, and its capability to reveal answers to fundamental questions about ourselves and humanity.

    Arabic Club at the Catholic University of America (Arabic Club)

    This club is for students both Arab and non-Arab regardless of religion to be able to grow and learn about their interest in the Middle East and Arab World.

    Black Student Alliance (BSA)

    The vision of the Black Student Alliance is to promote a sound foundation among all individuals whom are focused on the “African American” culture at The Catholic University of America.

    Catholic University of America, Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA-CUA)

    CUA-CSSA is equally responsible for helping away-from-home Chinese in their life, study, work and for serving as a bridge between the Chinese and other communities. It aims to introduce Chinese culture and language to the CUA community.

    The Chinese Club is dedicated to expanding the perspectives of the CUA student body with respect to Chinese culture and language. Throughout the ear, this organization will host a variety of events that explore the rich, multifaceted culture of China.

    CUA Gaels (The Gaels)

    The CUA Gaels are devoted to the celebration of Irish culture, history, and language. We organize events that will allow CUA students to easily participate in and enjoy Irish heritage.

    CUA Student Organization of Latinos (CUA SOL)

    CUA SOL strives to respond to the social, political, cultural, and educational needs of the Latino Community and to promote and publicize these needs to CUA at large.

    Filipino Organization of Catholic University Students (FOCUS)

    The Filipino Organization of Catholic University Students (F.O.C.U.S.) strives to celebrate and promote awareness of the Filipino and Filipino-American culture on The Catholic University of America campus.

    French and Francophone Club (French Club)

    French Club promotes the culture and language of France and French-speaking countries. We encourage tasting French and Francophone cuisine! And so we host Francophone dessert events. We even travel to museums with French-speaking tour guides!

    German Club

    The CUA German Club aims to foster global awareness, language skills, and knowledge of German, Austrian, and Swiss culture through conversation tables, films, and participation in a variety of cultural events on and off campus.

    Italian Club

    The Italian Club is dedicated to exploring and learning about all aspects of the Italian Culture including language, food, cinema, and history.

    Saudi Student Association (SSA)

    The SSA is here to serve the Saudi students attending CUA throughout their college career. We are an organization that represents the Saudi/Arab culture via events that situate ourselves in the CUA community. Anyone is welcomed to join. 

    Spanish Club (El Club de Español)

    The Spanish Club is an academic organization designed to help students improve their skills and understanding of the Spanish language.

    Central Neighborhood is an incredibly unique and exciting community made up of three buildings: Gibbons Hall, Caldwell Hall, and Seton Wing. Located in the heart of CUA’s campus, Central Neighborhood houses approximately 250 upper-class students.

    Graduate Student Association (GSA)

    GSA is a student-run, student-funded organization dedicated to the academic, cultural, and professional enrichment of graduate students at CUA. 

    Program Board (PB)

    CUA Program Board is a student-run organization that plans major events on campus for the undergraduate student body including concerts, speakers, comedians, movies, local talent, and traditional events; such as Capital Fest, Mr. CUA, and Mistletoe Ball! 

    Student Government Association (SGA)

    The Student Government Association (SGA) is the official representative body of undergraduate students at The Catholic University of America.

    Treasury Board (TB)

    Treasury Board allocates money from the undergraduate student activity fee in order to insure that the undergraduates of CUA are given a full opportunity to thrive on campus.
